Nature of the service
The service of volunteer drivers was developed with the goal of maintaining the autonomy of the people and enabling him/her to remain in his/her home for the longest time possible. With the aging population, we notice a significant increase in the requests for this service.
This service is carried out by a volunteer driver, within the framework of the activities of a recognized Community organization. It should not replace the assistance which the person receives from family and friends.
General instructions
- All requests to have a driver must be made to the center in charge.
- Please note that for every organization according to the policy there is a delay that you must respect between the request and the service (this can vary from 24 hours to 48 hours).
- The person requesting the service must be expected to pay a minimal fee in respect with the Law of the "Commission des transport du Québec".
- The service is offered according to the availability of the volunteer..
