YOUTH
AT THE HEART OF VOLUNTEERING

The Volunteer Center of The Haut-Saint-François is concerned with it’s youth. It is essential to make the communities aware of volunteering. We note more and more that the young people are aware, interested and involved in volunteering. They discover also from year to year the diversity of volunteering.

For several years, the Volunteer Center has invited the young people of the elementary level to take part in a drawing contest. The images illustrate an example of volunteering. Occasionally, the Center visits the students of the French-speaking and English-speaking elementary schools of the MRC. The Volunteer Center, in the presence of local volunteers, makes it possible to create bonds between the young people and the volunteering adults.

We are pleased to realize that the young people are aware of the volunteering they do or can do and will hopefully create youth centers, community newspapers, public libraries, and assistance to close relations. There are many reasons to hope that the youth will open their hearts to volunteering.
